Time and Place
Verity Nunan is a research-based artist who is using mapping to trace how biased legacies can manifest as a mode of rationality. Her approach aims to actively reimagine places in the landscape where human – water narratives intersect. Brian Nunan navigates Country through rivers, not roads. For the past 50 years, he has made his yearly journey along the Darlin-Barka into the outback an beyond. Witnessing first-hand the destruction of the Darling-Baaka, Brian’s records demonstrate that these ecological disasters cannot be viewed in isolation. In an attempt to open an intergenerational dialogue, this exhibition weaves historical and contemporary stories to encourage a non-linear understanding of Time and Place. (information from BHCAG)
