Spotlight on Laneway Festival Artists - The Orbweavers

Spotlight on Laneway Festival Artists - The Orbweavers
GLAMfest - Gawler Laneway Arts & Music Festival has a number of fantastic artists and musicians participating in the festival which will be held on Easter Saturday from 5pm. Today we are introducing the The Orbweavers, Marita Dyson and Stuart Flanagan, multidisciplinary artists working in music, performance and visual art from Narrm, on unceded, sovereign Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung Country.
The Orbweavers: 'Late last year we spent 5 weeks in far west NSW visiting Wilyakali and Barkindji Country, as artists in residence based at Broken Hill’s Sulphide St Railway Museum for GLAMfest - a multidisciplinary arts festival coming up on 8th April.
We met many generous and inspiring people in Broken Hill who are making fantastic art. The surrounding desert, beautiful Baaka River and Wontanella (Menindee Lakes) is stunning. The unique architecture, industrial and social histories of Broken Hill is compelling and multi layered - we are still reading up on it all and learning a lot.
This has inspired much thinking, drawing and new songs. We are looking forward to performing live again, and sharing new recordings from the project.'
