Spotlight on Laneway Festival Artists - Sarah McEwan
GLAMfest - Gawler Laneway Arts & Music Festival has a number of fantastic artists and musicians participating in the festival which will be held on Easter Saturday from 5pm. Today we are introducing Sarah McEwan whose partner museum was the Trades Hall Trust in Broken Hill. Sarah McEwan is an artist, musician and artist-curator who lives and works in Sandigo within the Wiradjuri Nation and in Sydney within the Eora Nation. She is passionate about 'onto-ethics'; how to make the present world different from the past.
As a musician, Sarah has played drums in bands for over 15 years and toured through Australia, Europe and China, having released music independently and through the labels Half a Cow and Laughing Outlaw.
Sarah is the Creative Producer of the Cad Factory (https://www.cadfactory.com.au), an artist-led organisation creating an international program of new, immersive and experimental work guided by authentic exchange, ethical principles, people and place.
As an advocate for an inclusive art world, Sarah collaborated with Leanne Dyer and Riverina Community College to establish a supported studio in Wagga Wagga that has been running since 2016.In 2016, Sarah was awarded a Create NSW Regional Fellowship where she undertook residencies at Duke University USA (2017), Womens Center for Creative Work USA (2018) and Bundanon Trust (2018).
Sarah has been developing her work for GLAMfest with a number of artists including Cheryl Blore and Julie Montgarrett.
