Creative writing contest with big prize money

Under the Silver Tree creative writing competition is now open and we’re offering big prizes to the winners. First place in the UTST Short Story competition earns $1,000 and there are special prizes for young people and local writers. Anyone over the age of 16 can enter.

Entry fee is $10, word limit 2,000 and the closing date is 12th April 2023.

Judge Claire Corbett is the fiction editor of Australian literary magazine, Overland. Claire teaches creative writing at UTS Sydney, and she serves on the board of Varuna, the National Writers’ House.
