Dr Julie Montgarrett is coming to Wentworth!

West Darling Arts is proud to present the first of our Outback Artist in Residence, Funded by Create NSW.
Dr Julie Montgarrett is coming to Wentworth!
She will be teaching a workshop on 21 November, Sunday 11am – 4pm. Royal Hotel, Wharf Street, Wentworth
This 1-day workshop by textile Artist-in-Residence, Julie Montgarrett, is the perfect introduction to visible mending techniques by making a basic Hussif (mending kit). Mending, patching and darning are the skills of repair and acts of invention; an imaginative, and resourceful way of thinking about renewal and recovery. Basic materials for making your hussif will be provided but if everyone could bring any basic sewing resources they have such as scissors, pins, needles, threads and a thimble that would be a bonus.
Julie will also provide –
• Public Talks on Wagga Quilts and The Pioneer Women's Hut Collection
• Open Studio Days during her residency from 15 Nov to 3 December.
