Celebrating NAIDOC Week

Check out these great Story Poles in Menindee if you are in the area sometime. The work was developed by a group of artists - Brian Harris, Darren Bates, Gary Wayne Edge, Debbie Bates and Frank Biasio, with project co-ordination by TAFE teacher, Geoff DeMain. The Story Poles are located opposite the Menindee Cafe and Visitor's Centre in a site being developed with a pathway and mosaic wall. In the Visitor's Centre you may find work by local Indigenous artists including, David Doyle, Barbara Quayle and Anthony Hayward. While you are there, take a walk by the beautiful River Red Gums lining the Baaka/Darling River in town and listen to the amazing birds that gather to this area.
