West darling arts have are proud to announce their partnership with southwest arts titled "Threads of our communities" in order to showcase the talent of fibre artists in both regions. This is project is a collaboration with eight local Councils and numerous community groups and organisations including CWA groups, knitting and quilting groups and fibre artists.

Threads of our communities captures the enormous existing talent with regard to fibre artists within our region, highlighting the innate connection between land and product right from farming through to the finished artwork.

Threads of our communities celebrates the key fibre production sectors that have underpinned our regional economy through creative fibre artworks.

This innovative project will connect artists with businesses and provide a digital platform for promoting the regions on a national and international stage but most importantly will provide an opportunity for regional artists to participate in the International Annual Excellence in Fibres Exhibition.

Category winners are presented to curators and directors of over 100+ international museums and galleries that feature fibre work and a select group of fibre and fine craft collectors.
