Broken Hill City Council is calling on street performers, buskers and artists to activate Argent Street in August as a part of the Mundi Mundi Fringe event.
City Growth Coordinator Anne Andrews said Council was in advanced planning for a Fringe Event.
“This is an opportunity for Broken Hill to really shine and put our best foot forward, and complement the Bash,” said Ms Andrews.
“There is going to be thousands of visitors in the city – many who have never visited the region before and they will be looking for a range of great experiences."
The Fringe Event will take place on Tuesday 17 and Wednesday 18 August from 4pm – 8pm and on Sunday 22 August from 10am to 3pm.
It is designed to draw people into Argent Street, encourage them to visit retail outlets, and enjoy the experiences that the city’s hospitality venues, cafes and restaurants offer.
“We are calling on street performers, buskers and artists who are interested in performing on the street to contact Council and register their interest,” Ms. Andrews said.
The Fringe includes entertainment in the Town Square and Council will re-install the pop-up Arboretum in the Regional Art Gallery Car Park, host a pop up Visitor Information Service tent in the Town Square and the Art Gallery will remain open until 8pm on Fringe nights.
To register to be part of the Fringe event, please fill in the online form here https://www.brokenhill.nsw.gov.au/.../Fringe-event-to... or contact Council on 08 8080 3300.
