Pro Hart Outback Arts Award - Broken Hill Regional Art Gallery
This year the Gallery was excited to have Susi Muddiman OAM (Director Tweed Regional Gallery & Margaret Olley Art Centre) as the judge for the 2020 Pro Hart Outback Art Prize. The finalists included: Max Berry (Surry Hills) - Ian Marr (Wilcannia) - Ulan Murray + Rachel Burns (Bega) - Wayne Elliot (Charlemont) - Lindy Brodie (Tennant Creek) - Clark Barrett (Broken Hill) - Amanda Penrose Hart (Potts Point) - Helen Earl (Oxford Falls) - Ross Potter (Willagee) - Patrice Wills (West Penant Hills) - Ann Evers (Broken Hill) - Hamish Donaldson (Red Hill) - Mirco Guidon (Marrickville) - Kathy Ellem (Hansonville) - Margaret Ambridge (Maylands) - Alice Blanch (Hawthorn) - Fran Callen (Glenalta) - Geoffrey Harvey (St Peters) - Amala Groom (Bathurst) - Jason Hamilton (North Fiztroy).
The awards were announced on-line on Friday 4 September. First Prize was awarded to Margaret Ambridge for Struggling to Remember 2020 which was a charcoal drawing using charcoal from fire and raindrops on paper. Second Prize was awarded to Ann Evers for Contained and Baked in the Desert 2020 which was a woven and mixed media work (image shown photo credit BHRAG).
