Spotlight on Jenny Cattonar

Spotlight on Jenny Cattonar - Studio Artist Broken Hill
This week's feature artist is local Broken Hill resident, Jenny Cattonar.
Jenny was born in Genoa Italy in 1946 and immigrated to Australia in 1951 when her family settled in Broken Hill. She started drawing early, having a father who was an artist and a grandfather who was a fresco painter in Italy.
Jenny’s first exhibition was in 1981 with the Williyama Art Society in Broken Hill , where she sold her two paintings. She really loves painting portraiture and commissions. Her paintings are in private collections in Australia and internationally. Jenny is a member of the Williyama Art Society and Gaara Arts in Broken Hill.
Jenny has a wonderful studio space attached to her home in Argent Street as you come into town from the east, where you can see different genres of her work and also see some of her grandfather’s work. Give her a call to check opening times and Covid health requirements.
Here is a short audio snippet of Jenny talking about her work and influences.
